My name is Celia Danks and I live in Scotland. The Dandie Cartoon book started as fun! That is, I sent some funny drawings to Margreth Wall in Sweden, and she manipulated them and made them even funnier! Thus the idea was born! After discussion with Ineke ter Heersche in Holland, we decided to make a cartoon book for all to see. We also decided that this book would not be of profit to us - but rather, to the breed we all love so much. I do the cartoons, and have had great help and inspiration from Margreth. Margreth is also responsible for making the web page for all of our web sites to enable us to tell you what we are doing. Ineke is making the book ready for the printer, she will be doing the lay out and badgering printers to be ‘reasonable.’ She has much to do! Then we were lucky to get the help of Bronwell Bond in the USA who is doing a marvelous PR Job and collecting sponsorships from over there. The project is truly a joint - and international one - each providing the other with inspiration, with some of our sponsors also sending ideas which makes it even better! To you all we say thankyou.

We are presently researching researchers! We need those who will make the best use of our funds, which we hope will keep coming in after the book is finished - as we are already looking at other projects. At the present time we are enquiring about the work done on Glaucoma at the University of Missouri in America, and also at The Animal Health Trust in England. We will keep you informed of this and maybe when we have more information you could give us your opinion on where you think the money would be best used. We would welcome your input. The project now has a title - The Dandie Dinmont Trust, we ‘trust’ you will all keep up with your support and ideas - they are truly valued.
