Dandie Dinmont Symposium (whole weekend) with Janet and John Roslyn of the famous Renald Kennel

On the 1st and 2nd of May, 2004, we (Sabine Boers, Paul de Bakker and Ineke ter Heersche) intend to organise a seminar about the Dandie Dinmont Terrier, and we cordially invite all interested to take part. Janet & John Roslyn (Kennel Renald - England) have accepted our invitation to tell us all they know about the Dandie Dinmont Terrier.

The Roslyn's will also bring with them their large collection of Dandie Dinmont Terrier documents and publications, and we shall arrange for a photocopy machine, so that there will be ample opportunity for you to obtain copies of these articles. This will be THE opportunity to learn more about our favourite breed. The Roslyn's will also have various Dandie Dinmont Terrier souvenirs on sale. (Janet is currently the Acting Chairman of the Dandie Dinmont Terrier Club and John has been the Dandie Dinmont Terrier Club Treasurer for about 30 years, he retired last year.) We intend to present the seminar in a workshop format, ie seated around a table, directing questions about specific themes, group discussion and basically create an interactive atmosphere. Please send any questions you may have to us by email now, so that we can categorise them in advance.

On the Saturday evening, there will be a communal dinner, and on the Sunday we shall hold a small show, where Janet & John Roslyn will judge, explaining the whys and wherefores of their winning choices. It would be even more interesting if a Dutch judge could take part as well. It will also be possible to have your own dog specifically discussed.

By registering for participation, you agree that your Dandie Dinmont Terrier may be examined and publicly discussed. We hope that many Dandie Dinmont Terrier breeders and fanciers will participate in this seminar and we look forward to meeting you all. We are fortunate in having Mr.Chris Hunter, ex-president of the Dutch Scottish Terrier Club, as our interpreter German/English/Dutch and vice-versa, for which we are most grateful.

Costs for this seminar will be € 50 per person, and we are currently looking for hotels in the vicinity which will accept dogs; more information will follow in due course. Fees must be paid before the first of February 2004 into one of the accounts below. If you want to remain up to date with the developments on this event, please send us your name, address, town and phone number details, as well as an email address. We would also like to know in advance all details of your Dandie Dinmont Terrier - pedigree name, colour, breeder, owner and pedigree number. The organisers look forward to seeing you next May at this very interesting event. Any more questions? Mail to
